Unipart Group is the Best Place to Learn Lean. That’s a bold statement, but one we can measure up to. We’ve been developing lean tools and techniques over the last 20 years and have broken new ground in lean thinking. We have some of the industry’s best lean ‘sensei’ that deliver learning, and we can show how our lean tools and techniques (which we’ve grouped together and branded ‘The Unipart Way’) are actually being used to deliver real business benefits for our clients such as Jaguar Cars and Vodafone, so learning is not just classroom-based.
And we don’t just restrict lean thinking to factories either. We’ve also implemented the Unipart Way across our warehouses and offices, and even into our head office restaurant, demonstrating that lean thinking can be used anywhere. We also implement the Unipart Way inside our clients on a consultancy basis – for example we’re currently working with a large public sector body implementing lean into their administration processes.
We need graduates to help us implement lean for both existing clients in our operations and in consultancy. You’ll be given training in well recognised and respected tools like Six Sigma and PRINCE2, before getting the chance to hone and practice your new skills. The training will be comprehensive so no particular academic background is necessary, although if you have studied lean, this would be an advantage.
To meet the demands of our businesses across Unipart Logistics we manage the graduate programme in conjunction with elected senior business area leaders and look for graduates with a passion to work in these specific areas. We need motivated, engaging and driven individuals, who can lead by example and want to make a difference from day one. In return we offer a series of challenging placements in a specific workstream, and stretching training interventions which will quickly accelerate you on your career path here at Unipart.
We have six workstreams: Commercial (which includes sales, marketing and bid support), Manufacturing (including engineering), IT, Operations, Supply Chain and Consultancy on Operational Excellence.
During the two year programme our streams meet together to share induction, including training in the Unipart Way; to take part in a 3 month fast track development programme, run by our operational excellence consultancy business; to share ideas and best practice; and to participate in development days
Please take a look around our website, where there’s more information on the scheme, a chance to hear from previous graduates and information on how to apply.
