    Who are we?

At Schroders, asset management is our business and our goals are completely aligned with those of our clients – the creation of long-term value.

We manage £204.8 billion (EUR 226.7 billion/$328.7 billion) as of 30th June 2011 on behalf of institutional and retail investors, financial institutions and high net worth clients from around the world, invested in a broad range of asset classes across equities, fixed income and alternatives.

We employ 2,793 talented people worldwide operating from 32 offices in 25 different countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East, close to the markets in which we invest and close to our clients.

Schroders has developed under stable ownership for over 200 years and long-term thinking governs our approach to investing, building client relationships and growing our business.

What makes us stand out as a graduate employer?

For most business areas, our programme is not rotational; you are recruited into a specific role with responsibility from the start. You have a real job from day one, which will be combined with a fully comprehensive training programme. This training introduces you to all aspects of the investment management business in preparation to do the IMC exam. You will then go onto a career specific training programme that will last anything from 2-3 years and involves gaining professional qualifications such as the CFA for Investment & Distribution or CIMA for Finance/Accountancy or Technical & Business courses for IT graduates.

    What we are looking for?

We want people who are passionate, strong communicators with an appetite for challenge. In academic terms we are looking for candidates with a minimum of a 2.1 degree.

So what attracted our current graduates to Schroders?

Most say they joined because of the people they met. We believe that our biggest selling point is our people – we’re a friendly, welcoming organisation, and that really stands out in the marketplace.
