Overview

As a Technology Risk Analyst in the Technology Risk and Advisory group you will be part of the team that is an integral part of the audit team on large and complex external audits, internal audits and advisory projects. Your role will primarily be a “hands on” fieldwork delivery role. Work will involve assessing the audit risks associated with the use of technology, mapping processes and internal controls, performing controls testing and testing using our audit tools. You will be expected to study for and complete your accounting and information systems audit qualification over a 3 year period, and will be supported, developed and supervised by senior members of the Technology Risk and Advisory group.

Business Area Overview

• Understanding and documenting the systems relevant to the audited financial statements
• Documenting work performed and presenting results relating to the technology risks of the organisation
• Testing of IT internal controls to maintain the integrity, availability and confidentiality of clients information systems, including IT general controls testing
• Documenting transaction processes, internal controls and testing to confirm the accuracy of your understanding
• Testing of automated and computer dependant controls
• Performing analysis and generating audit evidence using our technology based tools
• Involvement in the planning, execution and finalisation of the technology aspects of the assignment
• Working closely with, and assisting senior members within the team
• Active engagement with client staff in the gathering of appropriate audit evidence
• Active adherence to budget and timetable, bringing matters to the attention of the senior members within the team, particularly when actual time is in excess of budget
• Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
• Identify and understand client needs, including sometimes providing initial solutions to client challenges, then communicating these needs and solutions to the senior members within the team
• Build strong relationships with new and established clients and within the team
• Carry out ad hoc assignments as may be reasonably required by your group
• Undertake any training or development co-ordinated by your group
• Coaching and assisting more junior trainees on the team, both at client premises and in the office
• Participate in group, stream and firm wide activities

Requirements

2:1 degree in any discipline
280 UCAS Points or equivalent, excluding General Studies
Grade B or above in GCSE Maths and English
