This two-year programme provides ambitious final-year degree students and recent graduates with exposure to the range of securities services we offer corporate, institutional and government investors and issuers worldwide. What to expect

Before starting on the HSBC Securities Services platform, you will join the Global Analyst Induction Programme (GAIP), with colleagues from around the world who have joined one of our other global businesses’ graduate programmes.

Over the two years, you’ll undertake four rotations, each lasting six months. These will enable you to build wide-ranging expertise in custody services, investment operations, fund administration, corporate trust and loan agency services – from a sales, product/strategy and operations perspective. One rotation will be international. Not only will this add to your knowledge but give you the opportunity to experience a different country and culture. You’ll also gain a thorough understanding of risk, which is vital to protecting the interests of our clients.

Wherever you join us, we will support, guide and develop you , while our leaders will help you to be the best you can be, reflecting your interests and capabilities.

Learning, development and support

We’re looking for the future leaders of HSBC Securities Services. Forward-thinking, driven, perceptive students and graduates who enjoy being part of a team and are excited by new ideas. People who are dependable and open to different cultures.

Your HSBC career will begin with the GAIP, which is delivered in the UK. This will provide you with an understanding of how everything in the bank fits together, along with a mix of technical and regulatory training. The GAIP is also an ideal opportunity to start building your own global network, which will prove invaluable as your HSBC career unfolds.

We’ll provide the support, tools and opportunities for you to drive your own development. As you move through your rotations, you’ll learn from experts and gain a detailed insight into HSBC’s strengths in the financial services industry. Your training will be carefully structured to enable you to fulfil your potential. As well as having regular access to business leaders for coaching and advice, you’ll have the opportunity to study for an industry-recognised qualification, while constructive feedback will enable you to measure your performance. You’ll be assigned a mentor and buddy, who will offer guidance and support. Continued learning will involve lunch and learn sessions and soft skills training.

There will be an opportunity to take part in sustainability initiatives that will help you to develop new skills, and possibly become a future leader of HSBC, while adding value to the communities in which we work.

The HSBC Securities Services Global Graduate Programme is the beginning of an exciting, long-term career. On completion of the programme, you’ll be a regarded as a specialist in your area in sales, product or strategy and could start progressing towards a senior role. You will have the flexibility to choose a permanent role that is most suited to your interests and skill set. You should aim to become a leader or senior manager, with either country or regional responsibilities, or a product team head.
