Risk and Compliance function

The Investment Management industry is facing unprecedented levels of regulatory change both within the UK and globally. The Risk and Compliance team within Standard Life Investments helps our business to manage this change by providing world class support and expert guidance across all aspects of our operations. This support has three distinct areas; to facilitate effective risk management, to advise the business on global regulatory requirements and to provide assurance that effective processes and controls are in place.

We are offering a great opportunity for a high calibre graduate with a 2:1 or above in any degree discipline to join our team. You’ll be at the centre of the function, with a structured series of rotational placements across the department, gaining insight into the corporate governance and controls that ensure the key processes which keep our business running smoothly are in place. As well as this exposure you will have primary responsibility for a number of key tasks, in particular the management of our global conflicts of interest system. You’ll see first-hand the workings and challenges of working in a Risk and Compliance function and learn how to work with people and manage the processes that ensure the business can grow but remain controlled. As you develop, you will get more involved in the progression of business solutions to respond to a diverse array of challenges.

You’ll be enthusiastic with strong relationship building and analytical skills, coupled with the ability to communicate and influence others at all levels within the organisation.

To support your time with us, you’ll be set-up to succeed with first rate training and development. There will also be an arranged network of support. We’ll expect you to be quickly up and running with key deliverables giving you the opportunity to show your potential on a continued basis.
