NERA Economic Consulting is a global firm of experts dedicated to applying economic, finance, and quantitative principles to complex business and legal challenges. For over half a century, NERA’s economists have been creating strategies, studies, reports, expert testimony, and policy recommendations for government authorities and the world’s leading law firms and corporations. We bring academic rigour, objectivity, and real world industry expertise to bear on issues arising from competition, regulation, public policy, strategy, finance, and litigation. NERA serves clients from over 20 offices across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

We have a number of openings for Interns to join our London office, in Summer 2016.

Responsibilities may include analysis of financial market data; designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; reviewing, summarising and analysing industry trends; managing large data sets and writing programmes to implement complex analysis; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos, expert reports and presentation materials; and participating in team meetings and conference calls. This is a team-based, multi-task environment that requires precision work that is both qualitative and quantitative often with tight deadlines.

Qualifications

We are seeking final year undergraduate students and current Masters and PhD students with first-rate academic records in Economics, Finance or a related discipline for summer internship positions. Although specialisms such as microeconomics, IO, econometrics and finance are of particular interest, NERA employs strong analytic and empirical economists from any field of speciality. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, able to think analytically and critically, and have excellent oral and written communication. Business level English is required and additional business level fluency in German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish and/or Danish is preferred but not required.
