The Risk division has a fundamental responsibility to protect the Bank and are the ultimate guardians of risk and return. With group-wide responsibility for the management and control of credit, market, operational, liquidity and reputational risks, we have a unique vantage point which allows us a holistic view of our businesses and our clients. Nearly 4,000 employees work together to achieve our ambition to be an industry-leading risk management organisation.

In an increasingly complex environment, risk management is fast-becoming one of the most sought after places to build a career within the banking world. Risk is relied upon to help shape the strategy of the Bank and the wider industry agenda.

Your training
It all starts with an introduction to the world of Deutsche Bank and the technical and soft skills you’ll need to make an impact. Your training will continue throughout the summer as you work on live projects, learning first-hand how we deliver for our clients. At every stage you’ll learn from our most senior leaders and network widely. And because our internships are a rich source of talent for the Deutsche Bank Graduate Programme, yours could also launch a career with us.

Your role
Based in one of the world’s global financial centres, you’ll work at the heart of a progressive business, gaining broad exposure to the Risk division. You’ll learn how to enhance shareholder value and protect our capital – developing both analytical skills and a good level of industry knowledge along the way. It won’t always be easy, but you’ll be fully supported by managers and mentors, and the experience and unparalleled global exposure you gain will prepare you well for your future career.

The skills you’ll need
When it comes to our Risk division, we welcome applications from all academic backgrounds – but Business, Economics, Mathematics and Engineering can be an advantage. We’re especially interested in people with a passion for statistical analysis and if you’re comfortable creating and using complex mathematical models that would be a plus too. Add to all that a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills and a thirst to learn and you could soon be adding real value to our business and building a long-term career as a business leader.
