  • Salary: Competitive

If you’re a talented graduate with an interest in banking and technology, an internship with us could be perfect for you. You’ll need to be in the penultimate year of your degree, and we’ll give you the experience and tools you need to shape a career you can be proud of.

Our purpose is to keep the bank and our customers safe by helping our colleagues put the right controls in place. We’re independent of the business, we call out risks by asking tough questions and we challenge everything.

With keen regulator interest and evolving customer needs, it’s a challenging time in the financial services industry. And you’ll play a key role in providing assurance that RBS has an effective control environment in place to meet these challenges.

What you can expect

Our interns spend ten weeks with one of our business facing teams. You’ll be based in either Edinburgh or London and work on audits – ranging from IT Applications, Information Security and Infrastructure, to Operations, Change, Regulatory and Payment Scheme Certifications.

You’ll help us to provide objective testing and assurance. You’ll work side by side with experienced Auditors and business stakeholders to shape audit objectives, understand processes, find risks, test controls and contribute to final reports on your findings.

You’ll work with other interns to deliver projects, but also have the chance to work independently on an individual report. We’ll assess your interpersonal, collaboration and decision making skills, as well as the impact you make to our audits.

Who we’re looking for

Do you share in our resolute mission to keep our customers safe? Or do you have a genuine interest in banking and technology? If so, we want to hear from you.

You’ll also need sound analytical skills, along with the ability to prioritise effectively. You’ll be adept at communicating – verbally and in writing – and be comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders, and confidently challenge others.
