What this placement is about
We have 12-month placements available in both our consulting and technology businesses, and a six-month placement which is just for consulting. This is an opportunity for you to get to know us, while building your skills and knowledge working on live projects, experiencing live challenges and playing your part in delivering solutions.
Whether you join our six or 12-month placement, you’ll start off with a week’s induction in London. By the end of it, you’ll know a bit more about how we tick and be able to put that knowledge to work on a live project, somewhere in the UK. From testing software to undertaking research, you’ll find yourself building your skills across different areas. And, with two appraisals during your placement, we will make sure you get the most out of your experience.
This 12-month placement is perfect for would-be Software Engineers and takes place during the third year of your four-year course. Gaining hands-on experience in live development environments, you’ll get the chance to work on many different projects from development to deployment while building skills in testing and technologies such as SAP, Oracle, Java/J2EE, C#, BEA Weblogic. You may even gain ICTTech certification while you’re at it.
What’s in it for you
You’ll enjoy an attractive salary, holiday allowance, subsidised gym membership, personal laptop, AMEX card, and many other great perks. Specific benefits vary between the programmes. For instance, Consulting trainees may be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to £500 while those on the Technology placement may apply for up £1,000 financial assistance with their university fees. What we’re looking for
For the Consulting placement, you’ll need to be studying a technical or business-related degree that offers the option of an industrial placement. You’ll also need 340 UCAS points at A-level in your top three A-levels (that’s AAB, excluding General Studies) and be expecting to obtain at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent. The 12-month placement is for second-year undergraduates, while the six-month placement is for third-year undergraduates on a four-year course.
The Technology placement is undertaken in the third year of a four-year course and you will need to apply in your second year. To apply, you’ll need 240 UCAS points and a predicted 2:1 in computer science, technology, maths, science or an engineering-related degree. An interest in business focused IT is also vital.
These placements are usually based in London. However, we may ask you to work in other UK locations, so flexibility and mobility are essential.
