Traders generate revenues for the bank. Working in the fast-paced environment of the trading floor, you must be knowledgeable about your area of the markets and be able to rapidly weigh up risks and returns in order to identify opportunities and determine the best strategies and prices.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor market news and events whilst evaluating the risk and opportunities for clients and the Bank’s positions and strategy.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of different trading strategies.
  • Price, buy and sell a defined range of instruments for clients and taking trading positions on behalf of the Bank.
  • Liaise with Legal, Compliance and Risk Management to ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and control requirements.
  • Develop spreadsheets to help the desk price and monitor risk.
  • Prepare daily P&L and escalate any unexplained elements to the desk head for sign off.
  • Handle product portfolios.

  • Excellent spoken and written English are crucial and other languages are a definite advantage in this field as you will ideally converse with your clients in their native language.


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Financial Engineering, Finance, Maths, Sciences, Economics, Econometrics or related disciplines
  • Previous related internship or work experience in financial services and/or investment banking
  • Programming skills such as C++ are a plus here but we’re ideally looking for people who understand programming
  • Experience in using information systems (Bloomberg, Reuters) are advantageous.
