As a Graduate within our Design Team you will form an integral part of multidisciplinary project teams working to generate innovative product, process and service solutions to meet the challenging needs of a diverse range of clients and sectors, including, healthcare, consumer products, consumer electronics and transport. You will assist clients in achieving their business objectives by generating innovative concepts and translating them into class leading products, packaging or services. Additionally you will educate both clients and colleagues in the value of design and how it can help them achieve their goals. You will use your interpersonal skills to help develop client relationships and will establish your own networks. You will meet and interact with clients regularly.

Our Technology & Innovation Practice is based in Melbourn, just south of Cambridge. We create value with our clients and provide an exciting and challenging environment for our people by innovating at the intersection of science, technology and market needs. We are seeking the brightest and best graduates who are passionate about applying their engineering and scientific knowledge in practical ways to develop innovative new products, processes and technologies. In your first year as an Analyst at PA you will develop your understanding of the competencies required to be a highly effective consultant. You will embark upon a structured training programme that builds the necessary skills to succeed. Your training will be supported by coaching, support and guidance from our experienced consultants and opportunities to broaden your experience on challenging projects and programmes.

Specific Tasks:
• Generate background research material, insights and concepts for sales presentations and assignment work.
• Participate in and facilitate creative ideation sessions and workshops to generate innovative solutions to challenging design problems
• Develop ideas and concepts through sketch-work, sketch-models, 3D CAD, rapid prototyping and testing.
• Generate presentation material including storyboards, concept sketches, CAD renderings and (ideally) animations.
• Present work to colleagues and clients

Person Specification:
• Minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent), and have or expect a 1st or 2:1 degree in Product Design (or closely related subject)
• We like to see a portfolio of work so we can get a good feel for your skills and ideas.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, 3D CAD (preferably ProE) and 3D Studio (ideally).
• High attention to detail
• Energy and enthusiasm will be essential; you will be a free thinker and show passion for developing solutions to complex customer problems.

The ideal candidate should have exceptional talent and never settle for second best. You will be constantly innovating; providing value-adding consumer insights and innovative design solutions for demanding clients. You should have an infectious enthusiasm for user centric product design and the ability to convince others with the breadth and quality of your ideas. You must be eager to develop your skill set and be prepared to get involved in a broad range of consulting activities covering the whole product development cycle from selling ideas through to detailed design and implementation.
