We are looking for a London-based Structured Credit Trading intern for 12 months starting asap (approx May 2017).  You will initially run, and thereafter enhance the Risk management systems for the business unit and monitor the market to provide trading ideas whilst learning the technical skills of Structured Credit Trading.

We are looking for candidates that are computationally advanced with a good foundation in Mathematics and Finance.  Additionally, the role requires you to build and maintain an efficient working relationship with our main partners in the bank, in order to ensure the most efficient development of work flow consistent with the strategic goals of the business.

Tasks will include:

  • Provide general administrative support to the desk
  • Maintain & develop Excel spreadsheets
  • Work closely with Middle Office, responsible for booking of new trades & management of existing trade bookings
  • Produce reports / presentations as required
  • Maintain data depositories
  • Work with various internal departments to maintain & develop infrastructure
  • Work together with others on desk based projects as required
  • Develop technical, market, product and technological expertise in a fashion consistent with the strategic aims of the business, to coordinate such projects, monitor performance against objectives, and ensure timely delivery


  • Currently studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree or recently graduated within the last 12 months; Financial/Mathematical background preferred
  • Expected to or have achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent); Minimum 320 UCAS points (or equivalent) and Mathematical, Scientific & Computing subjects preferred
  • Strong VBA programming skills with a high level of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) including programming macros
  • Candidates should be very analytical, highly motivated & self-starting
  • No prior work experience in Banking / Finance necessary however a strong interest in the industry is required
  • Fluent English is mandatory; German language is an advantage
