Our equities team is based mainly in Edinburgh, and also manages US equities from our Boston office. We carry out research on a global sector basis. Our equity portfolio managers and analysts have an average industry experience of 16 years, with 10 of these at Standard Life Investments.

As active managers, we place significant emphasis on rigorous research and a strong collaborative ethos. We constantly think ahead and strive to anticipate change before it happens, ensuring that our clients can look to the future with confidence.

We look for highly numerate people, with analytical mindsets. People with the confidence to take responsibility, and the initiative to propose new ideas. And people who can communicate and collaborate effectively with all colleagues.

For graduates, there are opportunities to help us create real value for our clients. This could be through meeting with clients and external companies directly – whether it’s to articulate our investment strategy, or to capture data and prepare reports. It could be through research to assess performance and profitability of companies we invest in. Or it could be through formulating and sharing investment recommendations with other members of our team.

You’ll play a big role in the team from the very start – with support from a mentor and coach to help you develop technically and personally. And there’s great support towards studying towards your Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

Qualifications

As well as a minimum 2:1 degree, we are looking for people who are able to demonstrate the following:

  • A genuine interest & enthusiasm in Investment Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking and numeracy skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and the confidence to drive relationships remotely
  • Initiative and strength of conviction in decision making

We value diversity in our workforce and welcome enquiries from everyone.
