This two-year programme offers ambitious final-year degree students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain experience in a specialist area of Capital Financing. It will provide the ideal platform to develop a successful international career in investment banking.
What to expect
Before starting with Capital Financing, you will join the Global Analyst Induction Programme (GAIP), with colleagues from around the world who have joined our other global businesses.
During the programme, you will develop your expertise in one of the following Capital Financing teams: asset finance; debt capital markets; equity capital markets; leveraged and acquisition finance; mergers and acquisitions; or project and export finance.
In your first year, you’ll undertake three rotations, each lasting four months. These are tailored to help you build skills and expertise in your particular business area, although you’ll also gain on-the-job experience in other areas. This will provide broad knowledge of the product specialisms. You’ll also gain a thorough understanding of risk, which is vital to protecting our clients’ interests.
In your second year, you’ll take on a role within your product area. Here, you’ll continue to enhance your product understanding and establish your professional reputation. Throughout the programme, we will support, guide and develop you, while our leaders will help you to be the best you can be, reflecting your interests and capabilities.
Learning, development and support
We’re looking for the future leaders of Capital Financing. Forward-thinking, driven, perceptive students and graduates who enjoy being part of a team and are excited by new ideas. People who are dependable and open to different cultures.
Your HSBC career will begin with the GAIP, which is delivered in the UK. This will provide you with an understanding of how everything in the bank fits together, along with a mix of technical and regulatory training. The GAIP is also an ideal opportunity to start building your own global network, which will prove invaluable as your HSBC career unfolds.
We’ll provide the support, tools and opportunities for you to drive your own development. As you move through your rotations, you’ll be learning from experts and gaining a detailed insight into HSBC’s strengths in the financial services industry. Your training will be carefully structured and you’ll have regular access to business leaders for coaching and advice, while constructive feedback will enable you to measure your performance. You’ll be assigned a mentor and buddy, who can offer guidance and support.
There will be the opportunity to take part in sustainability initiatives, which will help you to become a future leader of HSBC, while adding value to the communities in which we work.
