Bridge the gap between university and working life with a well-structured programme of training, live projects and networking events. You’ll learn about an exciting, global function, gain hands-on experience within one of its key areas, and add value to the work of your team.

What to expect

You’ll join one of our many specialist Risk teams – like Market Risk, Credit Risk or Conduct Risk among others. This gives you a chance to develop a good understanding of a specific area and its importance to our Risk function. You’ll take on your own projects and responsibilities, and work closely with people across all levels of the Bank. At the same time, you’ll learn about the broader Risk function and the wider Barclays organisation through a number of different initiatives, and learning and networking sessions. Your work will make a real difference to your team and prepare you for life as a full-time Risk Analyst.

How you’ll develop

The exposure you get will build your understanding of how we operate and where you’d most like to work. From day one, you’ll start gaining the know-how you need to get your internship off to a flying start, and you’ll always be able to count on support from senior in-house experts. Their advice and encouragement will strengthen your confidence and help you sharpen your skills. Performance coaching, social events and the chance to take part in projects outside of Risk will also help you expand your network and develop. Do well and, at the end of the Summer Internship, we may offer you a place as a full-time Risk Analyst.

Who thrives here

People of any degree discipline who are ambitious, keen to learn and determined to build exceptional technical ability.
