What is the Business & IT Analysis Internship Scheme?

Our Business & IT Analysis Internship Scheme is designed to recruit and develop our Business Analysts, who sit within our Business Change department. Business Change is the primary interface for all change initiatives and major projects within M&G. During a project we work closely with other business areas to understand the requirements for change and ultimately deliver the defined objectives within a project life-cycle environment.

To maintain our competitive edge and improve our dominant position in the Asset Management Industry, Business Change is a key player in supporting the strategic goals of M&G through developing business and technology solutions and developing business processes and operating models.

The role of a Business Analyst focuses on the business-side of technology and helps translate real business problems and opportunities into usable IT solutions.

The internship will last 8-10 weeks, involving one placement in one of our Business Analyst teams. Whilst on the scheme you will be exposed to a number of areas outside of your immediate team, through day to day work, training and networking opportunities in order to provide a broad understanding of Business Change and M&G. Throughout the scheme you will be assessed with a view to making 2017 Business & IT Analysis Graduate Scheme offers upon completion.

What will you do?

Business & IT Analysis interns take an active role on projects as part of a project team, gaining exposure to the various business areas and technology used at M&G.

Work that previous interns have been involved in includes:

  • Investigating and analysing business activities and
  • Analysing business problems and drawing existing and future business processes
  • Gathering stakeholder requirements
  • Presenting recommendations to business stakeholders

What training is provided?

You will take part in a training programme which includes workshops on asset management and M&G. These are designed to be suitable for those without industry knowledge, and will provide an understanding of the whole spectrum of business areas within M&G.

Interns are also invited to networking and social events, and provided with a buddy from our graduate cohort who will act as an informal support contact.
