Open to all school and college leavers, the Career Information day is a one-day course designed to help you make the right career choice and develop your overall business awareness. It offers hints and tips on our recruitment process and gives you an opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to work at PwC.
Using a combination of interactive teaching methods – such as participative business games – it will offer you a detailed look at the different types of work we do for our clients and the responsibilities you would have should you join one of our programmes.
Who is it for?
The school and college leaver career information day is an opportunity for participants to find out more about our business and develop their skills for the workplace and their future career.
However, as this is your chance to find out about a career in professional services, it stands to reason that you should have an interest in the world of finance.
The career information day takes place within a team-based environment so we place just as much importance on your team-working skills, as your ability to show initiative.
What will you do?
You’ll get the opportunity to have a more in depth understanding of our business and our opportunities through a number of interactive skills sessions. We’ll look at the application process and give you lots of guidance on how to best prepare for the different assessments you’ll have to face. You’ll also get the opportunity to talk to some of our recent joiners. They will be happy to give you the benefit of their experience and answer your questions, providing you with as much information about shaping a career at PwC as you can get.
How will you benefit?
Essentially, the aim of the day is to enable you to find out what we do, how we do it and how you can get your foot in the door.
You’ll have the opportunity to network and find out what it’s really like in professional services from the people in the know – our staff. And if that’s not enough, we’ll also help you to develop your overall communication and business skills.
When and where can you do it?
A number of career information days are held throughout the year, at our offices up and down the country. View our planned Career Information Days from our website.
Application and Selection
As part of your application to attend a Career Information Day, you will be asked to complete two online psychometric tests: Numerical reasoning and Verbal reasoning. Your performance on this test will not affect your eligibility to attend a Career Information Day; it is purely to provide you with some early feedback on your ability in this area, which you can discuss in more detail when you attend your chosen session. Assessment is a vital part of our application process for all of our programmes and familiarisation with these types of assessments will be of benefit to you, should you decide to apply to one of our vacancies in the future. You will also be required to submit your contact details and academics.
To attend this course, you must meet our academic criteria.
You must have achieved or be on course to achieve at least 240 UCAS tariff points in three or more A levels / AS / AVCE / Scottish Highers (this excludes General Studies and Modern Studies). Other equivalents to include but not limited to HND / HNC / International Equivalents.
