Types of membership and how to join the CIPD
The majority of people join the CIPD to become recognised for their HR professionalism through professional membership – Associate member, Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow.
Professional membership is achieved through CIPD study and upgrading after completing a CIPD qualification or Experience Assessment.
CIPD professional members are also able to use globally recognised designatory letters after their name to showcase their professional credentials: Assoc CIPD, Chartered MCIPD or Chartered FCIPD.
