City University graduate, Omar Bashir, secured a job at a top insurance firm after holding a sign outside a number of tube stations in The City earlier this month.
Having obtained a 2.1 degree in Economics, Omar, aged 23, was struggling to progress from this entry-level marketing job despite sending nearly 100 applications. Due to the competitive nature of the graduate job market he felt that he needed to stand out, so he took a sign and 40 copies of his CV to Bank and Cannon Street tube stations. This is where he met David Ross, Chief Executive of insurance advisers and brokers, Arthur J. Gallagher. He interviewed and walked away with a graduate job with them that day.
