Big Four professional services firm EY has announced plans to recruit nearly 500 professionals into their Belfast branch.
The recruitment drive will provide the foundation of a new business unit offering advisory and assurance services in the region.
Mike McKerr, EY’s Ireland managing partner, has said that the new centre will operate with a ‘vertical’ staff structure, with proportional opportunities at all experience levels. This is good news for students, who will be able to apply for internships and graduate jobs with EY Belfast.
Paul Henry, chairman of Chartered Accountants Ulster Society, welcomed the news: ‘Announcements such as those from EY underline the opportunities chartered accountancy can bring and we hope it will encourage more young people to consider it as a career’.
