After achieving strong growth throughout 2013, accountancy firm BDO plans to hire 500 new people in the new year, including 300 graduates and school leavers.
After a merger with PKF completed in April, BDO’s turnover was boosted to £312 million this year with underlying profits of 55 million. The merger resulted in a 40% increase in staff, including 100 new partners, and wider geographical reach.
The firm has also grown organically this year in areas such as tax advisory. Audit saw the strongest growth, with income up 16% to £111 million. BDO Managing partner Simon Michaels told economia: ‘we’ve got some ambitious plans for continuing to grow the firm over the next three years’.
