John Lewis has created its first technology apprenticeship, with the aim of training the next generation of IT and systems leaders in the business world.

The 2013/14 Technology Apprenticeship scheme will be run by training specialist QA Apprenticeships, and will see five successful applicants join one of the retailer’s IT project teams in London.

Ben Pike, Director of QA Apprenticeships, said: ‘This programme shows the power of IT apprenticeships to deliver relevant skills to business and offer career paths in a whole variety of sectors.’

An IT apprenticeship is just one of many routes into the profession.
