Research firm Income Data Services (IDS) is forecasting a rising number of graduate jobs in 2013.

The predicted 8% rise in the number of graduate jobs represents a sharp upswing from last year, which saw a rise of just 0.1%.

Employers in the retail sector were the most optimistic respondents within the survey, projecting a 30% increase in the number of graduate jobs.

However, more than 70% of employers also said that they planned to freeze graduate starting salaries for the year.
