A new study conducted by Barclays has shown that more logistics and transport companies are planning to recruit new members of staff over the next year.

69% of British firms within the sector have said they will be creating new employment opportunities in 2013/14. A rise on 2012 when only 46% of firms said they in a position to increase hiring.

The Barclays Job Creation Survey spoke to more than 700 companies in the logistics and transport sector. Rob Riddleston, head of transport and logistics at Barclays Corporate Banking, said that it is ‘positive to see that the majority of transport and logistics providers surveyed are confident about creating new positions’.
