Thirteen of the UK’s leading investment companies have collectively pledged to take on hundreds of young people from diverse backgrounds.
The firms will create more than 100 12-month paid trainee roles, to be filled by school leavers and recent graduates.
The apprentices will have the opportunity to gain experience within all facets of the business, including IT, infrastructure, marketing, operations and investment.
By 2020, the scheme aims to provide at least 2,020 of such roles per year.
London Mayor Boris Johnson has been vocal in his support of the project.
‘By learning the ropes as Investment 2020 trainees they will get an invaluable chance to build their CVs and boost their long-term chances of securing top jobs in the City,’ he says.
