A new government funded toolkit is being launched today with the hope of breathing new life into the UK’s high streets.

Gloucestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, the national retail Pathfinder LEP, has been working on a project funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills with the Association of Town & Cities Management and other partners to produce a set of tools to help high streets find their niche and improve their retail performance.

The Successful Town Centres – Developing Effective Strategies event will be held today in Gloucester to inform town centre managers, town teams, LEPs and local authorities of the work that the LEP has been doing.

The LEP suggest that there are a number of factors that can help make a successful high street and hope that their work will enable local authorities to increase the retail potential in local areas using strategic tools.
