The City continues to show steady signs of improvement in 2013, with a three percent rise in jobs since January.
Recruitment firm Astbury Marsden report that 2,575 jobs were created last month, up from 2,510 in January.
Mark Cameron, Chief Operating Officer at Astbury Marsden, warns against over-optimism, saying: .’..it might be premature to start talking about a healthy recovery in the City jobs market, especially with the unpredictability in the Eurozone … We are expecting markets and the trend in hiring to remain volatile in the first half of this year.’
However increasing numbers of City workers looking to switch employers does display increasing confidence in the industry, and this slow but steady month on month increase since the start of the year backs up claims that now is the right time to apply for jobs in finance.
Increasingly, the graduate entrance into finance jobs is through securing banking internships.
