The National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) awards have been celebrating best practice in work experience provision for ten years.

The awards give employers the chance to be rewarded for the thought, time and effort they have put into developing their placement or internship schemes. This year’s awards received over 200 company nominations.

The shortlists for the 2013 awards, which are to be held on the 19 March, have been announced.

Employers shortlisted in the ‘Best Large Organisation with More than 250 Employees for long-term placements’ category, taking on more that 20 students, include IBM, John Lewis and Fujitsu. The Co-operative Group and BP are just two of the shortlisted companies nominated who take on less than 20 students.

Hymans Robertson, BP and Centrica have all been shortlisted for their short term placements. Teach First have been nominated as a ‘Best Newcomer’ alongside FMC Technologies.
