Credit Suisse plan to simplify their banking structure and reduce costs by merging asset management with the private bank.

The new, streamlined structure of the investment bank will reflect ‘the importance of the equities and investment banking advisory and underwriting businesses’ Chief Executive Officer Brady Dougan said in a statement.

Hans-Ulrich Meister, head of the private bank, and Robert Shafir, head of asset management, will lead the combined division, which will also include the Swiss trading business.
