The UK’s positive employment outlook looks set to extend across the rest of the year, according to research by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

The organisation’s Labour Market Outlook report revealed that net employment intentions increased in the last quarter to plus seven%, compared to plus five% in the three months prior.

While there was a slight fall in private sector net hiring intentions – down to plus 18% in the last quarter – the suggestion is that small firms and others are continuing to expand.

A similar report by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, published last week, revealed that the labour market improved again in October.
