The Port of Liverpool has appointed 12 new engineering apprentices.

Classroom based study will be combined with on site experiences to enhance logistics and operations at the port.

This is the largest intake of apprentices in two decades with all new workers taking aptitude tests before acceptance.

The four year scheme will see the recruits learn about either electrical or mechanical engineering.
