Aberdeen engineer Katy Crawford has received an award from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (ImechE) in recognition of her work which inspires school children to consider careers in the oil and gas industry.
Crawford has been chosen to receive the Raising the Profile of the Profession – Promoting Engineering to Primary Students award.
22 year-old Katy has only been in full time employment for a year but she has been heavily involved in making younger children aware of the benefits of a career in engineering.
As the IMechE Young Member Panel’s education representative, Crawford has been instrumental in introducing the Primary Engineer initiative into primary schools in the North East of Scotland.
