Small businesses in the UK have been urged to think hard over their use of social media.
This comes as Charlie Lawson, National Director of Business Network International has claimed that bombarding consumers through sites such as Facebook and Twitter could be damaging to a company’s reputation.
Lawson observes that many companies have a variety of social media accounts but their usage widely varies, some have no content while others bombard users with promotional messages constantly.
It is still considered wise for companies to employ a social media strategy and 60% of business people consider social media to be effective communication tools.
