Malaysian bloggers and internet activists are staging a one day blackout in protest against changes to internet laws.

Activists say the law restricts freedom of speech online and makes people unfairly liable for content published on networks or personal devices.

Within the new law a burden of proof is placed on the network owner, meaning that even if a device or network is hacked the owner could get in trouble.
