The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply and the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management are offering additional benefits to each of their membership base with a new agreement.
Both sets of institute members will be able to apply for discounted membership of the other body and will be invited to two targeted events each year as the institutes sign a Memorandum of Understanding. CIPS members will also be able to join the ISMM conference at a discounted price.
David Noble, CIPS CEO said: “Sales and procurement are often perceived to be at loggerheads, so this is a great opportunity for our members to understand the pressures and challenges from ‘the other side’.
This is also a chance for both sets of members to work on joint projects to develop tools and understanding that others can use and look at best practice. I hope this is the start of a fruitful and long-standing relationship as it’s a good deal for members and their knowledge and networking development.”
CIPS is the largest professional body for procurement and supply management and works with a number of partners to promote and train for good purchasing and supply management practice.
