Your role

 

Do you want to know more about the participants and dynamics of the capital markets? You’ll:
• get to know the markets from the capital raising stage to disposal
• be involved in and contribute to providing M&A advice and execution, including spinoffs, takeovers, exchange offers, takeover defence and formation of joint ventures
• interact with the equities platform to get an insight into the investor community views and trends
• learn all about debt capital markets including corporate and emerging market bonds
• gain familiarity with structured products tailored to our clients’ funding and stake management needs
• be able to analyse complex situations and develop the best strategy to maximize our clients’ diverse objectives

Your team

You’ll be working in our Investment Bank’s Corporate Client Solutions (CCS) business, You’ll work closely with the CCS country and sector coverage teams, as well as the other product teams, providing coverage, advisory, capital markets and financing solutions for corporate, financial institutions and sponsor clients.

You’ll start your UBS experience by participating in UBS Discovery, a training program that will bring you up to speed on our industry, strategy, capabilities and culture.

As you move into your target business you’ll benefit from both business-specific and firm-wide on- and off-the-job training that will ensure you are a confident and competent contributor from day one.

Each business has its own program that varies in duration, scope and location, but they all share a similar approach that breaks down complex information into manageable elements. The teaching methods and environment encourage you to get to know your peers. In some areas, an extended induction period provides further team building and networking opportunities. You keep on learning once you join your team. You may be rotated through a number of desks and departments to broaden your product knowledge and extend your network of contacts. In some departments, regular lectures and presentation events allow for the sharing of knowledge as well as promoting team spirit. Ongoing training and development encourages your career progress. Customized programs build your core competencies and enhance your skills.

In CCS, you’ll also benefit from curriculum training that will prepare you for your analyst role so that when you hit your desk you’ll be up to speed on accounting, valuation and modeling. Once on the job, your training will continue through targeted business-specific as well as professional skills training. You’ll also create networks with graduates from across the firm through networking sessions designed to increase your knowledge and expand your contacts.

Requirements 

We look for candidates with a minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) who have completed or are completing their first undergraduate degree achieving a minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent). Applications from all degree disciplines are welcomed as is evidence of skills such as problem analysis, judgement and decision making, planning and organizing, communication, drive and commitment, teamwork and innovation.

Fluency in both German and English is a requirement for this role.
