Salford Business School Offers four full-time Masters degree programmes designed to equip graduates with the requisite knowledge and skills to pursue a demanding career in the financial sector. Each degree begins with essential core subjects and a range of options enabling the student to customise their studies according to their career aspirations.

Programmes

  • MSc Islamic Banking and Finance

You will focus on a system of banking consistent with Islamic legal principles. Sharia based banking is one of the fastest growing sectors in the financial world enjoying an estimated current growth rate of 10-15% with over 300 institutions globally managing an estimated $500 billon of assets.

  • MSc International Banking and Finance

The Banking and Finance industry is currently experiencing a ‘shakedown’ that is generating a number of problems requiring new strategic solutions and bringing new opportunities.

  • MSc Financial Services Management

This programme provides an opportunity to be involved in one of the world’s most complex industries. Students consider issues covering property, transport, shipping, insurance, credit, wealth management, home and commercial mortgages. The financial services sector now recognises the need to re-think its strategies to embrace new approaches, work creatively, innovate, manage costs and improve understanding of individual customer needs.

  • MSc International Corporate Finance

Gain extensive knowledge of valuation, financial-decision making, financial risk management, financial instruments and markets, derivatives and financial operations in emerging markets. Graduates can expect excellent career prospects in roles such as Corporate Finance Officer (CFO) or working in financial consultancy, investment management, corporate finance or planning and regulatory bodies.

Professional placement year

Students on all banking and finance programmes have the unique option of taking a paid professional placement year in place of a third semester dissertation.

This route provides valuable experience and enhances a student’s CV and employment prospects. Students are placed in a large variety of organisations, from global corporations to small enterprises. International students will be granted a visa extension to take a placement year.
