Accessibility

Inside Careers is committed to equal opportunities for students and graduates with web site accessibility issues. As such, the following guidelines have been used when creating the site design and content.

Quick Menu / Tab Key

Pressing the tab key on first entering any page on the site allows you to step through the quick menu which is normally hidden from users at the top left of the screen.

This quick menu gives options to jump straight to page content (i.e. skip navigation links), read this statement, and various other links where appropriate.

Navigation and Screen Layout

All links in the main navigation menus change background or foreground colour on mouseover, and links in the main content of the site have been made as high contrast as possible given the overall style of the site design.

All text in the main content area is resizeable and effort has been made to comply with guidelines on foreground and background contrast. All links have alternate text for use by screen readers, all images have alternate text and/or titles associated with them.

When using the tab key to navigate between links the active link is highlighted in high-contrast yellow when a browser recognising active links is used.

The use of tables for layout purposes has been reduced as far as possible, and the site makes no use of flash for navigation. All navigation on the site is consistent, and different sections of site pages are clearly defined.

Text which is fixed in size is only used where necessary to keep the screen layout even - for example in the top menu. Text here usually forms part of a link that will have alternate text associated with it, so it can be read aloud by narrator programs when required.

If you find anywhere on the site that does not comply with the above guidelines, please let us know by using the contact us page and sending feedback to technical support, and we will endeavour to correct the error as soon as possible.

We hope you find the site both useful and useable.
