Employer Profile

About the firm
Excellence in the provision of specialised intellectual property services has been associated with Potter Clarkson since 1889.

In February 2011 Potter Clarkson LLP was ranked in the highest tier of UK patent firms in MIP’s World IP Survey 2011 and awarded the title of ‘UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year.’

Based in Nottingham, we have a team of highly qualified professional, technical, and administrative staff who provide services in patents, trade marks, registered designs, licensing, and related topics in all industrial fields. One of our strengths is to be organised into specialist groups, including biotechnology, chemistry, electronics and engineering and design, yet retain the flexibility to deal with inter-disciplinary technologies.

Our clients range from private individuals to multinational corporations, and come from all over the world, including many direct clients from Europe and the USA, as well as from all over the UK.

Graduate applications
The growth of our firm demands that we recruit high calibre individuals across the range of disciplines to train for qualification. We are committed to training at a high standard, which has resulted in a candidate from Potter Clarkson winning the Moss Prize in eight of the years since 1997.

We welcome applications from individuals with excellent academic qualifications who wish to train and succeed in the patent profession. Although not essential, research or industrial experience is preferred.
