The Job
SunGard’s Adaptiv provides enterprise-wide credit and market risk management and operations solutions for financial services institutions.
As a Quantitative Developer you will help develop the Adaptiv Analytics product. Adaptiv Analytics is a highly engineered component capable of conducting complex financial risk calculations. Within Adaptiv and beyond it is positioned as SunGard’s primary risk calculation engine. The Adaptiv Analytics team has to provide the financial engineering skill set capable of maintaining, supporting and developing this calculation engine.
This skill set includes both those of a financial engineer requiring exceptional mathematical skills to PhD level (or equivalent) combined with outstanding software programming skills. The success of any activity in the team is successfully transferring financial engineering requirements into highly performing software through coding within the Analytics framework.
The contribution must be exceptional on average. The role is equivalent in scope and necessary skill set to the combination of both a Front Office Quantitative Developer AND Quantitative Analyst role in an Investment Bank.
You will play a major role in promoting our solutions internally and externally. You will be expected to support the process of selling our solutions to prospects and developing our relationships with our clients.
The Person
To be a successful applicant you must demonstrate a passion for software development and evidence of interest in the financial markets and quantitative finance. The complexity of the work requires mathematical modeling skill. Consequently we require a history of academic excellence in a subject of a technical nature with a high mathematical content and/or a PhD with a high mathematical modeling component.
Moreover we wish to see a familiarity with using software to solve complex problems, a demonstrable interest in software development and technological innovation, and a demonstrable understanding of the role of quality assurance in product development.
