Retail Sales - Kraft Foods

I have always had a passion for people and, combined with my enthusiasm for selling, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in sales. Since joining Kraft Foods in September 2006 on the Retail Sales Graduate programme I have had the opportunity to work with different departments on some iconic brands. Over the last 12 months, I have spent time in field sales, Dairylea snacks marketing, and am currently halfway through a planning placement, working on brands such as Kenco coffee and Carte Noir. The diverse nature of the Kraft graduate scheme is what makes each and every day a new and exciting challenge.

Monday
I arrive in the office at 08.20, picking up the all-important coffee on the way in. This involves speaking to various customer managers and understanding any new news that might impact the sales forecasts. At midday the team meets for a working lunch to review the numbers and agree the revised forecasts to present to the business. The afternoon is spent discussing with marketing, finance and supply chain the impacts the updated forecasts might have, and then agreeing any actions that may need to be taken.
