About Us:
Mercer is a leading global provider of consulting, outsourcing and investment services. Operating in 41 countries, our 3,200 strong UK based team supports a huge variety of organisations, including some of the biggest multinational corporations. Working with over 60% of FTSE100 companies and a notable percentage of the Global Fortune 500, we help our clients engage with and reward their employees, manage risk, drive revenue growth and improve business processes. Along with our professional excellence, it’s the breadth and depth of our services that make us an industry recognised market leader.
About our roles:
The nature of Pensions is changing, which is why it’s an exciting time to join Mercer.
You can join Mercer as an:
Actuarial Trainee or
Trainee Consultant (Retirement)
You’ll be performing individual and transfer value calculations, supporting consultants through attending trustee meetings, preparing reports, advising on pension legislation changes and liaising with clients.
As your knowledge develops and progresses, you’ll see that there’s a world of opportunities available depending on whether you want to specialise or focus on becoming a more generalist consultant.
What you’ll need
To succeed at Mercer, you must be highly perceptive, communicative, driven and organised. You’ll look to be challenged by genuine responsibility, intellectual stimulation and ever-changing client priorities.
You’ll need at least 300 UCAS points (in 3 subjects including a numerical subject at grade B or above) and a 2.1 Honours degree in a numerical or semi- numerical degree (or an equivalent qualification).
Training & development
Joining our Retirement, Risk & Finance division will see you studying towards a professional qualification – Actuarial, or the Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision. You’ll be fully supported by Mercer in your studies by paying for your tuition fees, study materials, giving you a generous study leave package and a study champion who’s there to provide advice and guidance on study practices.
Our 18 month graduate development programme has been designed to identify and build on your existing strengths and includes a comprehensive induction, an exploration of the consulting business environment and a focus on equipping you with a range of skills you need to become an exceptional consultant. Your development doesn’t end at 18 months though. We’ll provide ongoing technical and professional training and assign you a performance development adviser.
Rewards
We offer competitive rewards, including a company pension, an innovative flexible benefits scheme, 24 days holiday (with the option to buy or sell up to 5 further days) and much more. Apart from the tangible rewards expected from one of the biggest consultancies of its kind, you’ll enjoy a working culture that recognises talent and is committed to your continued development.
