Range of client services
Services extend over the whole range of intellectual property matters, and a wide variety of subject matter is covered. There is an international range of clients, including some who are undoubtedly among the leaders in their fields. The firm also has a technical translation department. The firm’s objective is to carry out high quality professional work, but at the same time maintain a friendly and not too formal atmosphere.

Academic and other requirements
A degree in science for patent work. A degree in any discipline for trade mark work, although a background in law or languages is preferred and one or more science A levels would be an asset. Additionally, for all candidates, an ability to write clear English and analyse problems logically. Candidates should generally have grade A in GCSE English Language. Ability to handle client personnel, from company chairman to laboratory assistant, is also required.

Professional development policies
Considerable importance is attached to training; this is mostly provided in house, but trainees also attend external lectures and courses including the Intellectual Property Law Certificate course run by Queen Mary, University of London. French and German language classes are held once a week. There are prospects of a partnership for a suitable person.
