Trainee Patent Attorney - Engineering Background

The Job

The role will be that of a trainee based in our Birmingham office, working in our Engineering technical group. Training will be a mixture of on-the-job training under the supervision of a senior attorney, our internal training courses and appropriate external courses. Trainees are expected to take reasonable responsibility for their own work and to have significant client contact at an early stage in their careers.

The Person

Candidates must be graduates from an engineering discipline, and competent to work on a portfolio of mainly mechanical engineering cases. Preference will be given to those with some post-graduate commercial experience. As for all our trainees, a first-class command of English, both oral and written, is required.
