Who are we?
Royal London is the UK’s largest mutual life and pensions company with £42.4 billion funds under management, serving around three million customers (all figures as of 31 March 2011). We offer a range of pensions, protection, investment and savings products, which are distributed principally through IFA’s and other third parties. We are committed to becoming a leading provider of financial services products in the UK. We aim to provide the highest standards of customer service and to develop products and services that are recognised as market leading. Our specialist businesses are clearly positioned in each of their markets. Their goal is to provide adaptable solutions that match the needs of distribution partners and customers.

What we can offer you
Our actuaries and actuarial students occupy key positions right across the Group. As you would expect from such a diverse company, we have a range of roles in which our actuarial students operate, including financial reporting, projects, investigations, pricing and pensions consultancy, depending on location. Our actuarial students have the opportunity to experience a number of different disciplines within sites. As well as the traditional actuarial areas, our actuaries work in a number of other fields where they apply their actuarial skills to bring a fresh perspective to solving business problems.

What we are looking for
In addition to an excellent academic record, we’re looking for individuals who have:
  • A drive to succeed in both the exams and the business.
  • The ability to write reports and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Good team-working skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and numerical skills. (Maths A level or equivalent grade B minimum).
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

We do not normally recruit trainees with exemptions from the actuarial professional exams at our Wilmslow office. Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
