Employer Profile

What do we do?
Aon is an organisation of incredible size and scope. Our business is professional services. Following our merger with Hewitt Associates in 2010, Aon provides leading organisations around the world with expert human resources and risk consulting. Aon employs 59,000 people worldwide who use their specialist knowledge and industry expertise to help our clients grow. Across the UK, we have 6,500 employees in 30 offices.

Who do we take on?
Our UK actuarial graduate programmes have been designed to identify and develop the future stars of our business. We are looking for people with a strong academic background, excellent communication and analytical skills and a desire to push themselves and be challenged to play a part in the future of our business. You will be provided with plenty of on-the-job experience, training and workshops, equipping you with the skills you’ll need to help our clients grow their businesses.

Actuarial consulting – pensions
Your role will range from the design and day to day management of pension schemes to corporate transactions and ultimately to the final close-down of the plans, when risk is passed to a third party.

Actuarial consulting – investment
Working with investment professionals from a range of different backgrounds, including actuarial, banking and fund management, you will advise pension schemes and other institutional investors on their investment strategy, including asset allocation, manager selection and risk management.

Actuarial consulting – general insurance
You will work with senior colleagues to deliver our wide range of general insurance and risk management consultancy services. You will rotate through all areas of general insurance from capital modelling to reserving, deciding which area is best suited to you.

As well as graduate opportunities Aon offer paid summer internships. Please visit our website for more information.

When can you expect real responsibility?
Early responsibility is a way of life at Aon. You’ll very quickly become a technical specialist in your particular area, meeting clients and advising them far sooner than you would in many other organisations.
